Quickstart — Your first bot
This guide walks through your first Mevichat bot end-to-end — from workspace creation to embedding the widget on your site.
Prerequisites
- A Mevichat account (free tier works)
- A website to embed the widget on
Step 1: Create your workspace
Sign up at app.mevichat.com with Google. A workspace is created automatically on first login.
Step 2: Create a bot
From the dashboard, click New bot. Give it a name, pick a starting system prompt, and choose a model. For Free tier, Mevichat Mini is selected by default.
Step 3: Add a knowledge source
Click Knowledge → Add source → URL (sitemap). Paste your site's sitemap URL. Mevichat crawls, extracts, and embeds content automatically.
Step 4: Embed the widget
Click Embed → copy the snippet. Paste it before </body> on your site. The chat bubble appears bottom-right.
Step 5: Test
Open your site. Click the chat bubble. Ask a question about your docs. You should see a grounded answer with source citations.
